The acquisition creates a leading independent UK ports and rail logistics specialist, bringing together more than 200 employees and generating combined revenues exceeding £40 million.

This landmark transaction positions the newly formed entity as a driving force for sustainable logistics, with officials highlighting the “unique opportunity for modal shift” towards net-zero solutions in the sector. JST, through its Ayr-based primary operating entity JST Services (Scotland), specialises in bulk and general cargo support across aggregates, timber, steel, and alternative fuels. Meanwhile, RFS, based in Harlow, is renowned for its construction material handling services, earthworks, and heavy mobile equipment support.

Hickman Shearer provided essential technical due diligence services as part of the acquisition process. The firm assessed the condition and operational standard of RFS’s assets across multiple customer sites in the UK and delivered a comprehensive valuation of these assets to support JST’s decision-making.
